At the end of 2023, the fourth edition of the book Introduction to Legal Science for Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten was published, edited by Peter Klik. Prof. Goudappel wrote the chapter on International Public Law. The book can be ordered at

In November 2023, the third No Mas No More conference took place in Curacao. Prof. Goudappel spoke at this conference about the possible accession of Curacao to the Istanbul Convention on combating violence against women and domestic violence. CLC is a member of the consortium that designs the management of Klein Curaçao on behalf of the Ministries of GMN and VVRP, financially supported by RESEMBID, a subsidy provider on behalf of the European Union. In 2018, Klein Curaçao was added to the list of Ramsar areas, internationally protected 'wetlands', in which vulnerable nature is protected with a balanced space for people, plants and animals. In the consortium, CLC is responsible for designing the necessary national regulations to enable protection and management. CLC is designing a professional law master for the University of the Dutch Caribbean UDC, the first professional master to be offered in Curacao. Information will be available online soon at  www.udc.cw and the first students can register.

 

 

 

In the summer of 2023, the liber amicorum Meester in context was published on the occasion of the retirement of Prof. Marc Loth from Tilburg University. Prof. Goudappel wrote a contribution on the role of judges in the Caribbean countries and overseas territories of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as judges of the European Union. Prof. Goudappel is chairman of the newly established Foundation Insurance Dispute Committee Curacao. The Dispute Committee was established by the Fundashon pa Konsumidó and the joint insurers to give private policyholders a simple and inexpensive opportunity to object to decisions of insurance companies.
